What I really disliked was whenever the book would switch to the murderer's viewpoint. It just seemed I don't know That's not quite it. It just wasn't believable to me.
I was left with the feeling that the author In one word, "eh". That's not what I'm looking for with a book like this. I want a character that makes me shiver and hide under the covers. This didn't do it for me.
The character was too simplistic, with no real depth, and I found myself kind of bored with him. And to make matters worse, the ending just sort of fizzled for me and seemed kind of unrealistic.
The Hot-Blooded Insects
So, "eh". Maybe I'll give the second book in the series a try and see what I think about that. My one likable character Detective Bentz makes a reappearance in Cold Blooded, and I would like to give author Lisa Jackson another try or two. Part 1: Hot Blooded English Edition.

I really enjoyed reading part one, about Laith meeting a girl who could hold not just his attention, but intrigue him to the point of distraction. This is but part 1 of 4, so.
I must continue on with 2 now. In all honesty, I actually prefer to read the entire book as opposed to breaking it into 4 parts. Grant is good about offering both options, I oftentimes end up downloading the 4 parts vs the entirety in one book because I tend to be impatient. Lol I really would like to hear her books in an audio version as well, but done by one of the good readers who can accurately present the story in Scottish or American accents depending of course on the character. Over the past few months I have read every one of Donna Grants series.
I cannot praise the worlds she has drawn me into enough.
I find myself immersed in these different realities thoroughly and of course I am totally addicted. I love the dragon kings! Especially not Ty Wheeler, her seductive new neighbor who seems to know more about her than a stranger should.
Somebody has discovered Samantha's darkest secret. Somebody is convinced that lives must be sacrificed to pay for her sins. So far, the victims have been strangers.
But as a cunning, cold-blooded killer grows bolder, Samantha wonders in dread if she will be the next to die. She is also the co-author of the Colony Series, written with her sister and bestselling author Nancy Bush, as well as the collaborative novels Sinister and Ominous , written with Nancy Bush and Rosalind Noonan.
